Three
years ago I was looking for a saddle to fit my 14hh aging Paso Fino.
It had to be light, short in length and comfortable. My wife and I
have tried almost everything available. We were interested in the
Sommer Evolution endurance saddle. We ride Ortho Flex saddles
so we are somewhat spoiled but now believe that the OF saddles were not
the best thing for our horses. They do resell quickly!

send it out for me to try .. It was beautiful to say the least. My
Paso did not go as well as I would of like and it left some dry
spots on his back. So, Gery took it back with a smile. We looked at
the Oakfield but it was new and he was having trouble getting them
back then.
I
was still hung up on its beautiful looks of the Evolution and had
Gery send it out once again to give it a second chance! Same results
(see wife laughing) the saddle went back once again. For years I
have made do with the OF and a cheaper Abetta saddle, but I was always
wanting something else. I have searched and tried and returned more
then I will admit in writing.
On
June 16, 2005 I got up the nerve to email Gery regarding a few
saddle options. Silly guy, he answered me and we order a Crates
Traveler. He was so helpful once again, going back and forth with
Crates trying to help me make the right tree/style choice.
The
saddle arrived .. I love it .. My Paso loves it .. My guy gaited the
best he has in many many years, the tree is flared at the withers
allowing free shoulder movement, the seat is doubled padded for me
and the rear skirting is also split in the center also allowing
free movement.
If
you are looking for a saddle and Gery Holtz sells that brand - There
is no one better to deal with!!
